Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you get the animals from? Do you kill them for your bone preparations?

The answer is a definite no. We do not kill animals for the purpose of offering them to our customers. Our animal preparations are by-products from the food industry, killed in legal hunts, dead pets or deceased animals from zoos or vivaria.

What does B-grade mean in the description?

Let us try and explain it as clear as possible.

All skulls in our topic >Animal Skulls are normally A-grade. These skulls are absolutely complete according to scientific dentition standard. All teeth are well developed and none is missing.
All skulls come from adult specimens. Only due to dental wear no skull will be b-graded.

So B-grade does not mean the skull is in bad condition, it just misses some teeth. They were lost during life which is absolutely normal. Also skulls from younger specimens will be B-grade skulls or such with slight damages due to slaughtering or hunting. All our B-grade skulls will be perfect for classroom use or in exhibitions. Only a scientific determination according to the dentition formula may be difficult, because missing teeth are not always obvious.

I would like to prepare animals myself. Can you tell me where I can get hold of the animals?

No, we do not reveal information about our suppliers and sources and do not sell raw material.

Can I drop by and watch how you do it?

Sorry, but there’s nothing to watch. In compliance with veterinary regulations, our production process is not open to the public. Visitors are not allowed.

Can I pick up my order from your premises or choose a preparation myself before I buy it?

We do not operate a shop with a show room or viewing facilities. All our preparations are placed in dust-protective wrapping and stored.
We are a service provider and mail order company which does not cater for walk-in customers.

Do you offer discounts?

No, we don’t. All our prices are calculated end prices and do not allow any scope for discounts.

I bought items similar to your range from another supplier at a much, much better rate, but they don’t look as good. Why is that?

Sorry, but now you know why our prices are a little higher. We don’t simply buy and sell, but our company’s founder and proprietor is a qualified taxidermist. The standards for our preparations are very strict, and we process all our skulls and skeletons extensively before selling them. High quality doesn’t come cheap!

Do you only sell, or can I have my own skulls or skeletons prepared by you?

We will be delighted to process complete deceased animals, skulls and skeletons for you. Please get in touch with us.

I would like to have an animal processed by you. How do I get it to your premises?

The most convenient and usually also the cheapest option is to send us the items by post (package). Recently deceased animals should be deep-frozen for at least 48 hours, wrapped tightly in several plastic bags, placed in a solid carton with sufficient padding (crumpled newspaper) and dispatched at the beginning of the week. We can arrange for large animals to be picked up (at your expense).

Do you also purchase old skulls or skeletons from private individuals?

No, as they usually do not fulfil our quality standards.

Do you purchase raw items for further treatment?

In cases of recently deceased or slaughtered animals from farmers, butchers, breeders or zoos, we look forward to hearing from you. All purchases are subject to legal stipulations with the necessary documents where required.

Can we rent an item?

No, we do not rent anything
