Skull Replica Australopithecus africanus (Taung Child) Reconstruction
The Taung Child skull was found in a limestone quarry by M. De Bruyn in 1924 and was that of a three-year-old two-legged ape from South Africa. It was described by Raymond Dart in the Journal of Nature in 1925 and was the first member of the Australopithecus genus, dating from around 2.3 million years ago. This is a reconstructed skull.
The dimensions of the skull replica are approx. 14 cm x 9 cm x 10 cm.
